Iron rungs bolted into karst rock, swaying suspension bridges, and a zip-line over the valley floor โ via ferrata gives anyone the thrill of climbing without years of training. Our most popular activity for a reason.
Via ferrata โ Italian for โiron roadโ โ is a style of mountain route where iron rungs, cables, ladders, and bridges are permanently fixed into the rock face, allowing anyone to traverse terrain that would otherwise require technical climbing skill.
Chinaโs karst cliffs are a spectacular setting for via ferrata. Youโll clip into a safety cable at all times, ascend iron rungs drilled directly into the limestone face, cross a swaying suspension bridge above the valley, and finish with a zip-line descent back to the ground. Views from the cliff face โ karst towers in every direction โ are genuinely unforgettable.
There is no technical skill required. If you can climb a ladder and walk across a suspension bridge, you can do via ferrata. The guide manages all the safety systems; your job is to enjoy the exposure and take in the view. Groups regularly include first-timers of all ages who finish wanting to go straight back up.
